In May 2025, during a period of heightened regional tension, Punjab's Home Department, Information Department, and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) used DAT's WhatsApp-based platform to coordinate field-level updates from government officers across the province.

The system aggregated text, audio, photo, and video updates from field officers into a single dashboard for departmental decision-makers — without requiring officers to install a new app or complete additional training, since the interface was the WhatsApp they already used day to day.

The effort was covered by several Pakistani outlets, including Daily Times, 365News, BBC Urdu, and Dawn.

Editorial Note

This entry describes DAT's technical and operational role only. The original coverage of this story used charged political and military framing around India-Pakistan tensions; that framing has been deliberately left out here, since it isn't DAT's own position to take and doesn't belong on a company's News page. Worth a look at the source article directly before publishing, to confirm this framing works for your purposes.
